Intermediate is the medium Difficulty, and contains some of the harder level design, but with less monsters.

Differences between Intermediate and Advanced in Dark Castle

• Less Enemies then on Advanced.

• Longer time between Gargoyle appearances then on Advanced.

• The Black Knight's mugs only bounce once.

Differences between Intermediate and Advanced in Beyond Dark Castle

• Less Enemies then on Advanced.

• Longer time between Gargoyle appearances then on Advanced.

• The Black Knight's mugs only bounce once.

• No special ending.

It is currently unknown how this will work in Return to Dark Castle.
