Magic buckets appear in a few places in Return to Dark Castle. Magic Buckets initially appear as inanimate scenery, but suddenly start jumping toward the player if he gets too close.
If you get touched by this enemy, you die.

Magic buckets can be killed in a number of ways. The most common solution is to hit them with a mace-type weapon, though crossbow arrows will not affect them. Buckets, like many other enemies, can be frozen with the stoneball spell. Bombs will also destroy them.
Fireballs and regular stones will not destroy them, however they can be used to move them from side to side. This technique can be used to herd numerous buckets into a corner to be bombed, or in the Forest Bridge, knocked off of the screen.
