The Orb is one of the three major items in Beyond Dark Castle , along with the Fireball, and Shield. It is used to open the gate to the Black Knight's Showdown & The Final Battle.
There are 5 Orbs total, and once they are all obtained and put on the pedestals, the large gate in the Ante Room opens.

In Return to Dark Castle[]
There are a total of 25 Orbs in Return to Dark Castle, each scattered about. In order to get an Orb, you must complete a generally challenging levels (Orbs arent easy to get!). Ten are required for the main quest, and the other 15 can be placed in the Library on the spare pedestals.
