You will need a crossbow to obtain this treasure. In the Library, there is a hidden switch on the right hand side of the lower level, left bookcase. Pull that switch (watch out for falling books!) and a passage will open up on the upper level bookcase. You can either dispatch the henchman with your bow and arrow or just dodge his swings and dash into the entryway.
